Marshall Lawrence is the Executive Director of Silent Blessings Deaf Ministries in Anderson, IN.  Marshall recently wrote to tell us about their trip to Iowa with volunteers to shoot thirteen segments for their 5th season of Dr. Wonder’s Workshop. Silent Blessings has created a beautiful DVD they will give away to over 5000 families this summer which presents God’s unconditional love, His plan for salvation, and an invitation to accept Jesus as Savior.  We should all keep praying for this ministry and the deaf community they serve so ably.

We have a “Thank you” DVD given to us by WMP in case any one or a Sunday School Class would like to see it.  It runs only 2:49.  Our personal involvement at WMP (several I 3 teams have spent time working there) and our donations help them reach millions of readers in over 210 countries.

WMP reports that daily they get requests for WMP pamphlets and many lost souls are coming to Jesus just by reading the booklets distributed.  In the Philippines they speak over 160 languages; a very diverse nation to be sure.  This year 5 Christians were actually killed just because they were Christians so the presure from non-believers is huge.   Materials in 18 languages are about to be sent to the Philippines…one 40 foot container and one 20 foot.  It will take months for this material to make its way into the cities and the remote villages throughout the Philippines.  So we must continue to support these efforts with our constant prayers, our work in the local WMP offices, and our financial support.

Gospel for Asia; Samuel and Jaman;

Samuel can’t do anything without shaking uncontrollably.  He has trouble walking and suffers from frequent headaches.  The religion he grew up in indicated he would be a curse to his family so he was hated at home.  At 18 he suffered an illness that did severe  and permanent damage to his nervous system and Samuel was diagnosed to die in a short time.  Instead he lived, found a job, met a woman who introduced him to Jesus , and opened up his heart to God and His word.  Today he is a missionary for Gospel for Asia and the people he meets and helps through handouts, home visits, and prayer meetings REALLY listen to him as he shares God’s Grace

Jaman stands up to teach his congregation every Sunday…but without any notes.  In a crowd, he often bumps into people or trips on a sidewalk .  Jaman has been a missionary for GFA for 14 years and is blind!   Blessings to his wife, Hemaprabi, who helps Jaman with everything for preparing sermons to encouraging to walking next to him in crowds.  These men are not devalued in any way.  They are not allowing handicaps to get in the way of dispensing God’s good will and grace in their communitites.  God Bless them!!

In this final message of the “Christmas Conspiracy Theories” series, Pastor Jeff invites us to consider the far reaching and eternal consequences  … IF JESUS WOULD HAVE QUIT.

What would have happened if Jesus would have thrown-in the towel?

What if Jesus would have decided that all of the scrutiny and suffering wasn’t worth it?

Where would that leave you?  Me?

Christmas Conspiracy Theory – What If Joseph Bailed?

A teenage girl pledged to a boy. She’s pregnant. They’ve not had a sexual union. It’s not his child.

  • Joseph left Mary high and dry, shamefully saying, “It’s not my kid”.
  • Joseph persuaded Mary to stay quiet and get an abortion.
  • Joseph publicly renounced Mary at the city gate and left her to face the consequences of her pregnancy.
  • Joseph discretely divorced her and moved on with his life.

In this message, Pastor Jeff walks us through the biblical narrative of Matthew 1:18-25 and helps us see how Joesph, the foster father of Jesus, did in fact deal with a very difficult and mind blowing reality that not only affected his life, but would affect all of history.
