Who can it be knocking at my door?
Have you ever asked that question inside the comfortable confines of our your own home?
In today’s message, Pastor Jeff will answer this question and give voice to a few more questions that arise from the Biblical text of Revelation 3v20.
Carl and Valarie Addison, Earthen Vessel
Carl and Valarie Addison are the founders and only employees of Earthen Vessel Ministries, a ministry to work alongside pastors and families to assist them in strenghthening their marriages, cope with family tragedy, assist pastors or congregations in times of transition, and serve in interim ministry roles . Though the ministry is only two years old, this past year they visited over 14 states, worked on some projects in conjunction with Indiana Ministries of the Church of God, Carl completed his doctorate and a course on coaching, and they are attempting to settle in the Anderson area. Please pray for them as they build thier ministry in the years ahead. Their web site is www.evmonline.org.
Bulgaria, Dave and Kathy Simpson, Panagyurishte,
Dave and Kathy Simpson are Church of God missionaries to Bulgaria….the first ever from Church of God. Kathy maintains a routine journal and recently reported an interesting anecdote. One of their ongoing efforts is to minister to 18 orphaned boys and girls in Panagyurishte…but sometimes the teaching can go both ways. Recently on a trip there they provided some small funds for the kids after the Christian program and games. Most of the kids bought chips and soda…just like our kids would. But 16 year old Todor bought 6 pounds of potatoes and his 2 buddies bought cooking oil and 2 liter cokes. Yes, they liked potatoes, but their thought was they could make the money go further if they cooked something for everyone to enjoy. Looks like the Simpson messages of Christ and love are working!
By the way, Dave and Kathy will be in church with us here at NWCOG on Sunday, June 13. They hail form Warsw, IN so we surely will welcome them home as family!
Tanzania, Webb, Dodoma
Mike and Heather Webb are Church of God Missionaries to Tanzania. One of their projects is the Dodoma Tailoring School which started up classes once again in January. The goal for this school is to give young women a practical occupation they can use for a lifetime and use with their family, too. The largest graduating class they have ever had was 8…but recently two other support organizations approached them about bringing thier girls to the tailoring class which would bring the class to 16 or more. The Webbs will be in need of more sewing machines, expansion of facilities and some building repairs…but what a nice problem to have! If you would like to help them with these growtth needs, you can contact Church of God Ministries in Anderson and mention project #42.10093.
