LIA – Love in Action
Love in action is a ministry group of women of all ages who desire to show God’s love and reach out to others in a tangible way. They meet once a month to make lap robe quilts, baby quilts, walker pockets, cancer hats, underarm heart pillows, nursing pillows, burp cloths, crocheted and knitted hats; as well as special projects for other ministries in the church.
Fellowship is a vital part of the time we share together. You need not sew on a machine or even sewn by hand, we have many other tasks that are needed to complete the projects. Join in on the action the third Thursday of each month from 9:00a – 2:00p in the Fellowship Hall. Bring a sack lunch, yourself, and busy fingers and we’ll have a great time of fellowship together!
JOY – Just Older Youth
Just Older Youth is a group for our senior citizens (55+). They get together every second Thursday of the month for different events, trips, concerts, food, and more. It’s always proven to be a good time no matter what is going on so come join the fun!
MOPS – Mothers of Preschoolers
Mothers of Preschoolers offers a haven for frazzled nerves; an encouraging, accepting atmosphere where moms feel supported and develop new friendships. In these relationships moms find answers for everyday dilemmas and discover a safe place to explore and discuss life’s situations. MOPS groups are communities that meet the needs of every mom with children from birth through kindergarten.
Our regular meetings are held September through May, every 2nd & 4th Thursday from 9 – 11 a.m., at North Webster Church of God. A typical MOPS meeting includes: Refreshments and a time to unwind; A short devotional inspiration; A special presentation on a topic relating to parenting, children, or women; A time for small group interaction; Creative activities and life skills; Most of all MOPS provides a wonderful opportunity to meet, share and laugh with other preschool moms.
MOPS has many opportunities for women to continue using their gifts and talents after becoming Moms by filling different responsibilities in the group.
There is childcare available during the meetings for children up to 5 years old.
i3 (Small Groups)
From God’s perspective, living life alone is not good. That’s not how he created us to live. We were created with a deep need for rich and meaningful connection with other people.
That is why the experience of authentic community is so life giving. We are taking our place in the fellowship with Life Himself. When we’re in community we will experience “fullness of heart” in life-giving relationships with one another. The kind that makes our hearts come alive. The kind that only comes from God.
In i3 groups meaningful relationships are developed and every member carries a significant sense of belonging. You will grow in community with other believers and spend time together encouraging one another and supporting each other.
What is i3? Groups of men and women (no more than 12) who meet together in order to develop friendships, trust, mutual respect, accountability and support as they do life together.
Where do we meet? Groups meet in individuals homes. You are not required to host. Hosting is done voluntarily.
Do we bring our children? Groups are for adults only. However, there will be special social events where the whole family is included.
How often do we meet? You will meet 2-4 times per month. A minimum of 2 times is required.
What do we do at i3? While prayer and discussion of curriculum are key elements, the driving force behind groups is the building of relationships.
How long does a meeting last? Group meeting are about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Will I need to lead during a group? No, each group has a leader. However, members may volunteer to help with group responsibilities.
How long is an i3 commitment? Groups will meet together for 24 months. At that time new groups will be birthed and a new commitment will begin.
